Sometimes, so-called frontier science also involves making gelatins.

In order to make the representation of proteins more understandable to students with visual impairments, this team from the USA set out to make gelatins (like gummy bears) faithful to the crystallographic representations of proteins so that they could be received by the tongue and its relative musculature, which are much more sensitive than other body regions.
