How many enzymatic functions exist and have existed on this Earth?

We know about 8,423 different functions. And since there are many, we group them into 8 classes. Currently, the most abundant functions are those related to oxidation/reduction processes, but has it been this way throughout the history of Earth? How many enzymes have become extinct? 🤔
